This is Joanna, a teacher at Rennert International, sharing a tip to help TOEFL students improve listening skills on their own.
Joanna: Hi! This is Joanna from Rennert International and I’m a TOEFL teacher here. I’m here to share a tip for listening practice for the TOEFL. Many times if you are outside of class, a lot of students want to do extra practice for listening and one way to do that is to use the website NPR. This is a news website that has information about world issues, social issues, pretty much everything. One thing you can do is to choose and article that you find interesting and you still have a listening section where you can listen to the interview from the radio. While you are listening, I would recommend taking notes on as much detail as possible and once you finish you can read the transcript to see how well you took notes, pretty much, and to see what you missed, what was information that they had that you didn’t have. So, that’s just one tip for listening practice for the TOEFL. Good luck!
