LANGUAGE/ SKILLS FOCUS: Listening
1. Teacher introduces the song by using visuals and asking questions to prompt background knowledge.
2. Teacher hands out a cloze exercise to students with some words blanked out, as well as three different words to choose from for each blank. Students listen to the song and work individually to choose the correct word.
3. Students then compare answers with a partner.
CONSIDERATIONS: This activity can be adapted to any level; simply choose a song that is level appropriate for your students. You can also reduce the number of words that are left blank for lower level classes, and increase them for higher level classes.
