Principal can be a noun or an adjective and has a few different definitions. Most commonly it is used to talk about the leader of a school or a sum of money.

Principle is a noun with a few different meanings, but the number one definition would be a basic truth or law.

So consider this sentence:
The principal taught us many important life principles.
