Mad-Libs are fill-in the blank stories that allow students (…and not just students! I loved mad-libs on long car rides as a kid and even now as an adult) to create funny situations while practicing vocabulary or grammar. For example, you could use mad-libs to practice parts of speech, tenses and countable/uncountable nouns. Click the title above to visit a website with many pre-made mad-libs for young learners. Take a look and you can follow the same pattern to create your own mad-libs for adults! One thing to keep in mind, in class allow the students to work in pairs or groups. This allows the creative juices to flow. It is always funny when the groups share the stories they came up with and they are all slightly different :).
